Meditation

"Each time we drop our masks and meet heart to heart, we awaken from our sense of separateness, which is what we are called to do in all things."

Ram Dass

                            Meditation

The word meditation often invokes the "should" voice until you learn how to easily custom design your mindfulness practice. Just as physical exercise is beneficial for the body meditation is beneficial for the mind and attaining inner peace despite the loud chaos of the world. To simply develop a meditation practice:

1. Deciding to meditate. Success in all things starts with a decision!

2. Decide what particular meditation practice might work best for you.  Below are a few ways to experiment.

    There are a vast array of meditation programs that may be a good fit for you.  Experiment and notice what

     helps you to shift your awareness into your centered loving self.

3. Decide upon the time and space you will be meditating. Early morning is often recommended and if that

    works for you great. If any other time of day can be added to your schedule great!

4. Once the practice has been repeated enough times that a habit has formed, effort is no longer required.

    You just know you feel so much better when you meditate and main your peaceful center.

5. Meditation subject:  Say the statement three times and proceed with meditation, record what comes up;

    For example: In the presence of silence, truth speaks; Who am I; Behind my conscious self is my secret self;

 Basic Meditation Practice

Begin by focusing your awareness upon your breath.

As you inhale & exhale you feel more relaxed and peaceful.

Imagine a candle flame in your mind flickering in your minds eye.

It's okay to shift to be more comfortable.  Simply observe without judgment.

Simply say "sensation" to any bodily feeling you become aware of.

When thoughts come up or you hear noise simply say "noise" come back to focusing on your breath.

After a while you will find yourself letting go of being aware of your breath.

Gradually you will feel yourself shift into a peaceful alignment.

Start with whatever amount of time works for you:  5-20 minutes.

   "Love alone is capable of uniting living beings in such a way as to complete and fulfill them;

For it alone takes them and joins them by

what is deepest within themselves."

- Teilhard de Chardin -

There are many benefits that can be found in the practice of daily meditation. The habit of becoming consciously aware of our thoughts and therefore discipline them, results in the development of the ability to listen and relate of our Higher Self. The conscious awareness of our higher nature requires the same practice that any other skill would require, be it art, yoga, cooking, piano, golf. etc. The discipline to do what we need to do, when we need to do it, whether we want to or not is the underlying cause of the attainment of success in any endeavor. The fear and resistance begins to dissolve with awareness. Disciplined practice has reduces our tendency to sabotage our efforts to attain the goal of conscious connection to our

True Authentic Self, Peace and Contentment.
